Fundamental differences between Kanto and Kansai

There are many culture differences in every countries.
However there are many differences between Kanto and Kansai.
As you know, both are same country, JAPAN.
Today I'll write one of examples.

I was born in Kobe and grew up in Kobe as well, so I've never lived in Kanto.
But I've been to Kanto for trip.
Though this is very famous culture differnces, it was a little shocking for me.
This is an example that I saw in Tokyo.
When we who live in Kansai take escalators, we line up in right side.
When I was a child, I thought that it is natural to line up in right side.
However what I saw is everyone lined up in left side.
Since I got used to take escalatores in right side, I was surprised at that time.
I still don't know which is correct, but I feel that it is extremely interesting differences.

Even though we live in same country, same district, same prefecture, there are many
differences.
So I think there are many differnces between Japan and other countries.
When we travel other countries, we might be surprise at first.
I think it is one of the pleasures and great experience when we go to other countries.
